Beautiful Braided Bridal Style

So we reached out to Mirella Manelli (@mirellamanelli) to get all the deets on her 2017 #ONESHOT winning shot for Upstyling Shot of the Year. Not only did Mirella share the detailed steps with us, she also recreated the look so each step had an accompanying visual! HOW-TO STEPS

    Start by creating a diagonal teardrop Dutch braid in the back and secure with an elastic at the nape.

    Create a horseshoe-shaped section at the crown, then lightly twist and pull the section through the first loop of the Dutch braid. Secure with a bobby pin if needed.

    Next, take a diagonal forward section at the temple on the side opposite of her part.

    Create a lace fishtail braid, then lightly pull the fishtail braid through the second loop of the Dutch braid. Secure with a bobby pin if needed.

    How the style should look now following the previous step.

    Take a diagonal forward section from the opposite side, splitting the front section in two. Lightly twist away from the face, pull to create an airy feel and pull the section through the third loop of the Dutch braid. Do this for both front sections.

    Continue taking diagonal forward sections working from right to left. Criss-cross the hair through the Dutch braid until you reach the nape.

    Then, take 2-inch sections of hair from one side, lightly twist away from the face, pull to create an airy feel and secure the section onto a small ½-inch section on the opposite side with an elastic.

    Continue taking sections from right to left until you think you are finished. Then, detail the style using hair pins, hairspray and pulling out pieces to create a whimsical feel.
