  Blake’s look was a fresh, chic style—a staple suitable to any occasion, from the red carpet to the beaches of San Tropez. Celeb stylist Rod Ortega prepped Blake’s damp hair with Shu Uemura Essence Absolue mixed with Shu Uemura Depsea Foundation to give it shine and softness. Next, he blow-dried her hair out straight, using a T3 Featherweight Luxe and a paddle brush. Once the hair was dry, Rod used the paddle brush to smooth it back into a sleek ponytail, ensuring a sleek finish by running a T3 Single Pass Straightening and Styling Iron through to the ends. He finished the look with Shu Uemura Silk Mesh and Shu Uemura’s Sheer Lacquer for a glamorous, red-carpet ready style.

  Stylist Charles Dujic said that prior to the show, Twilight star Julia Jones sent him a text with the picture of her dress. “She was not sure where to go with her hair look, so she wanted me to weigh in with a idea for her hair that I thought would be best,” he said. “Her Stella McCartney dress had lots of pleats and hinted of a Grecian vibe, so I wanted to make the hair modern yet slightly romantic. The look I created consists of face-framing braids and was styled with lots of random texture. The key to keeping this look modern is to not be too controlled or perfect with the finish.”
  1. On dry hair, spray Sebastian Shine and Define then use a 1-inch curling iron to randomly wave sections of the hair.
  2. Section off a face-framing area from a deep left side part of (about 2 ½-inches in width on both sides of the part). Starting on the right, do a reverse French braid from the part line down the right side. Do the same on the left side then finish and fasten the braid behind the ears on both sides.
  3. Spray Rene Furterer dry shampoo on the remaining hair to create more texture. Backcomb the hair then sculpt and pin in into a freeform textured shape.
  4. Check it from all angles for form and balance, and then spray with a strong hold hairspray to keep the finished style in place.

  Jennifer J., L’Oreal Professionnel celebrity colorist and Co-Founder of Juan Juan Salon, is the woman responsible for Lily’s rich new locks. “Lily will soon be appearing as Snow White in the upcoming film, so she needed to darken up her locks from her ombre-ish brown/blonde hair,” explains Jennifer. “We didn’t want to make her too dark and appear ‘goth,’ so I was very careful to keep her in the brown family and more chocolaty. I used L’Oréal Professionnel INOA because of its amazing staying power.”
   
  According to Jennifer, “one way to successfully transition to darker hair is to add highlights. The highlights I added in Lily’s hair give it more movement and volume, which can be challenging to achieve when changing hair from light to dark.”
