Looking for the perfect Halloween dye job that’s festive and on-trend? This high-contrast split dye by PRAVANASenior Artistic Educator Becky Betts (@the_blonding_rebel) is your client’s answer. Get the step-by-step for this color transformation below—from faded blue and brunette to the ultimate fall cool girl vibe.
Prep the hair using PRAVANA Purify & Revive PRIME spray to cleanse and remove build-up. Process for three minutes to diminish any hard water minerals. No rinse required!
Take a vertical part from nose to nape to create two equal sections.
Apply Formula A to the dark side about half an inch away from the scalp through the ends. Once the hair has achieved 70 percent of the lift, apply Formula A to the scalp. Process at room temperature until you reach a Level 7 gold.
Apply Formula B to the faded mint side from roots to ends to neutralize the remaining color and replenish the warm pigment beneath. Allow to process for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Once Formula A and Formula B have processed, shampoo with PRAVANA Intense Therapy Cleanse, rinse and towel-dry.
Apply PRAVANA Silk Degrees Prep & Treat for five minutes to equalize porosity.
Starting on the prelightened side, apply Formula C to ¼” horizontal sections. Reload your brush every three inches for full saturation.
On the replenished (faded mint side), apply Formula D in ¼” horizontal sections from roots to ends.
Allow both sides to process for 30 minutes at room temperature, then shampoo and condition with PRAVANA Color Protect Cleanse and Condition.
Style as desired.
The end result!
