To create the look, Morales applied Redken full frame 07 protective volumizing mousse, Redken Extreme Anti-Snap and Redken satinwear 02 ultimate blow dry lotion to the hair when damp. This provided lots of body and volume, but also smoothness and shine, which allowed an easier time to create the fish tail.  Morales then rough-dried the hair to keep Fergie’s natural texture.

Pull all the hair to one side (leaving some hair out on the temple area).  Divide the ponytail into two sections. Start pulling hair from under one section and cross it over to the top and hold it in the opposite side. Alternate from side to side, and keep crossing from under then over until the hair is all braided. After the braid is done, pull out the braid making it a little loose.

To finish, take the loose hair around the temple area and spray each section with a little of Redken fabricate 03 heat-active texturizer and then, using a medium size barrel curling iron, curl each piece to create a soft wave around the face.
