HOW-TO STEPS
-
1 Shampoo and condition the hair with Styleshots Extreme Straight. Apply Candy Fixations Glaze Haze to the entire head. Take a horseshoe section at the high point of the recession.
-
2 Starting at the sides take slightly diagonal back sections. Comb the hair perpendicular to the parting and elevate to 90 degrees. Remove weight by point-cutting squarely to the head shape.
-
3 Cross-check before proceeding behind the ears.
-
4 Continue with the same technique towards to back until the center back is reached.
-
5 At the back, above the occipital bone, lower the elevation to build weight below the crown.
-
6 Note the change of hand position and repeat the same technique on the opposite side. For a balanced end result keep the technique consistent.
-
7 Repeat the same technique.
-
8 Repeat the same technique.
-
9 Once the underneath is completed, personalize the hairline by point-cutting.
-
10 Further detail the sides and back using thinning shears.
-
11 Take a central vertical section from the horseshoe to the front hairline.
-
12 Comb and elevate the hair 90 degrees to the top of the head. Use the length from the crown as a guide, and remove weight through the top by layering square to the head shape using point-cutting.
-
13 Pivot around the crown and continue with the same technique.
-
14 In front of the ear use horizontal sections. Overdirect all sections up to the square layering level and point-cut to remove weight from the top.
-
15 Keep hand and body position consistent and repeat the same technique on the opposite side.
-
16 Overdirect the hairline back to maintain length and weight throughout the fringe.
-
17 Cross-check before proceeding.
-
18 Blow-dry the hair working with the direction of the hair growth.
-
19 Comb the fringe forwards and reshape using point-cutting at a low elevation in the comb.
-
20 Using point-cutting, further detail the fringe for shape and softness.
-
21 At the top, remove additional weight internally using surface and point-cutting.
