HOW-TO STEPS

1 “To achieve Britney’s hair color you will need to do a double process,” explained Papanikolas.  “I rely on Joico’s High Lift series for her base taking her to a light golden blonde.”A double process blonde gives the ultimate lightest blonde.  First, apply the base color to the regrowth to lighten the base color for 45 minutes to a light golden blonde.  Then wash the color out, and dry the hair completely before applying Balayage highlights.”

“Applying Balyaged highlights gives the hair a very pale dimensional blonde,” explained Papanikolas.  “When applying the Balayage highlights, start taking horizontal sections from ear to ear.

Highlight application should be fine at the root, progressively getting thicker towards the ends of the hair.  Continue this application moving up the head with 1″ sections until you reach the part of the hair.  Go heaviest with highlights at the hair parting, and around the face.  Process under heat about 20 minutes or until desired pale blonde tone is achieved.”

“It’s crucial to use a reconstructor on very blonde hair like Britney’s like Joico’s K-Pak, Deep Penetrating Reconstructor, explained Papanikolas.  “After shampooing out highlights, apply Joico’s K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor all over hair for 5 minutes to rebuild and moisturize the hair.

A great way to get the client to go home with retail is to recommend she follows up with weekly 5 minute treatments of the Joico’s K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor.”
