Who is the ideal client?

Try suggesting this look for your naturally light clients: “The ideal client would be someone with a natural Level 6 or lighter, who wants depth and ribbons of lightness,” Lo explains.

What do you recommend for at-home care?

“At-home care would include a color-safe shampoo and conditioner, a heat protectant and oil to add to her ends for extra moisture since her hair is over-processed,” Lo shares.

COLOR FORMULAS

  • Formula A (lightener):

FORMULA STEPS

1. Use a balayage technique with Formula A. “I painted her highlights and lowlights with a paintbrush, pushing the highs toward the face and the lows away from the face,” Lo says.

2. Meanwhile, apply Formula B and process for 20 minutes. “A must-know tip for this technique is to make sure when blending highlights and lowlights that you don’t let your lightener touch your color because it will result in a warm band,” Lo explains.

3. Wash and style as desired.
