Isla Fisher embodied Hollywood glam at the 2019 Golden Globes with her floor-length Monique Lhuilier gown, which is why Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist Christian Wood (@cwoodhair) gave her a hairstyle to match. “As soon as I saw her beautiful, classic black ball gown and fabulous diamonds, I knew it had to be old-school Hollywood waves,” he shared. Find out how he created this style in the steps below!

HOW-TO STEPS

1

Start by applying Wella Professionals EIMI Perfect Me throughout wet hair and blow-dry smooth section by section with a round brush.

2

Once dry, use a tail comb to add a deep side part.

3

Then, start at the nape and wrap small sections around the barrel of the curling iron, holding for 10 seconds. Repeat this step until the entire head is curled, then spray Wella Professionals EIMI Stay Firm and let the curls cool for about 10 minutes.

4

Warm up a pump of Wella Professionals Oil Reflections Light Luminous Reflective Oil in your hands and glide the product through the midlengths and ends to add shine and prevent static.

5

Sweep the hair to one side and gently brush downwards until soft waves begin to form. “Don’t be afraid to keep brushing,” advises Christian. “Sometimes it takes 10 to 15 times.”

6

To tame flyaways, spray Wella Professionals EIMI Stay Firm on a toothbrush and glide the toothbrush over the top of the hair.

7

Finish with a quick spritz of Wella Professionals EIMI Glam Mist to add extra shine and to make the hair look as healthy and as glossy as possible. Then, add a generous spray of Wella Professionals EIMI Stay Firm to ensure the style lasts all night.
