Ulta Beauty Names Nick Stenson Chief Artistic Director For Salon Services

Nick will help us further explore synergies between Ulta Beauty’s skincare, haircare and makeup categories to help us deliver all things beauty, all in one place.”
Nick will oversee the elite Ulta Beauty Artistic Team that creates seasonal, on-trend cut, color and styling offerings that are available at all locations and will play a key role in the development of the salon and services strategy.

“Nick has demonstrated a strong capability to understand, connect and motivate the salon stylist community,” said Shiv Dutt, vice president and general manager of salon services at Ulta Beauty. “Nick is widely respected within the industry and has a proven track record for identifying and innovating the latest trends in a way that we know will appeal to our guests. We are pleased to have him join the Ulta Beauty team.”
To enhance the overall standing of Ulta Beauty’s salon, Nick will draw from his extensive international industry expertise and accomplishments. He is the former owner of two successful salons in Chicago and advises a wide range of high-profile celebrity clients. He also serves as an educator and artistic director for Matrix Professional Haircare and Color, a division of L’Oréal USA. For the past five years, Stenson has served as senior creative director for a chain of 859 salons nationwide at a major national retailer, where he was challenged to develop an artistic team and a full-time education team of 55 educators, who trained over 10,000 stylists nationwide.
