1. Warm Vanilla Dimension

About The Technique:

Chrissy likes to connect the entire hairline with at least three back-to-back babylights. “Think hairline to money piece. That way when you sweep your hair up, it’s all connected!” In the back she prefers to weave and slice heavier teasy lights, while leaving out triangle pockets of depth in between. As she moves toward the crown she transitions back to babylights to blend. The ends are hand painted in a heavy panel for maximum brightness.

Note: “I used Kenra Color’s Simply Blonde Beyond Bond Lightener, it lifts up to 9+ levels with bond protection. On the ends, I switched to their Simply Blonde Clay Lightener which is one of my favorites to paint with!”

2. Honey Blonde Balayage

About The Technique:

For this one, Chrissy starts off with babylights, but emphasizes that the size depends on the look your client wants. ” I used back to back baby lights for the money piece, plus horizontal micro slices for the majority of the head to give more coverage,” she says. “As you can see, they don’t look ‘sliced’. They are still extremely natural!” She hand paints the ends for a brighter, lived-in look. If they need help lifting, she will add teasy lights to the ends and set in foils. To finish off the look, Chrissy root-tapped and toned the blonde for a soft color melted look.

3. Platinum Babylights

About The Technique:

Chrissy applied heavy babylights at the crown and teasy lights at the ends to blend the natural gray into the hair. For this look, she used Kenra Color Simply Blonde Blue Powder Lightener plus 20-volume developer to paint and toned using Kenra Color Demi-Permanent Coloring Creme Rapid Toners in SV and 10SM. “I am so in love with the consistency of these toners,” remarks Chrissy. “They are super conditioning and leave the hair so glossy!”

4. Rooty Blonde Blends

About The Technique:

This diagram is perfect for anyone looking to transition their blonde clients to darker roots. Chrissy applied back babylights around the hairline for a bold, bright money piece. She blended out old highlights with a dry root melt and balayaged the ends. The best part about this technique is that the total application time was only 30 to 40 minutes. “This is great for everyday appointments when you’re short on time, but want a change!”
