BTC’s gray color guru (and Vancouver Style Blogger) Chris Weber has been busy travelling around Europe for the past couple of months—but even that couldn’t keep him from the salon (or from doing some truly amazing color transformations) along the way! Working with the Schwarzkopf Professional IGORA ROYAL color line, Chris created this gray/silver color fade while in Hamburg, Germany. Read on to find out how he did it!  

 

Booked for: 4 hours. Chris says: “Because she was a new client and she lived in a different city (an eight-hour drive) we did an email consultation. The whole process took about three and a half hours, including blow-dry time.”

HOW-TO STEPS

    • Formula B:

      Equal parts Schwarzkopf Professional IGORA ROYAL 6-12 and IGORA ROYAL 4-13 + 3%/10-volume IGORA ROYAL developer 

    • Formula C:

      3 parts Schwarzkopf Professional IGORA ROYAL 9.5-22 + 1 part 6.12 + 3%/10-volume IGORA ROYAL developer

    Lift prelightened hair (length and ends) to a Level 9/10 using Formula A. Process for approximately 25 minutes, then rinse.

    Create a soft fade using Formula B, applying the color to the regrowth. Use foils to separate the sections, making sure not to get any color on the lighter-colored ends. Process for 25 minutes.

  • 3

    Rinse, then check to ensure all regrowth has been colored and that a soft fade has been achieved.

    Apply Formula C to the midlengths and ends. Process for 20 minutes.

    After rinsing, apply Davines Nounou Pak Nourishing Repair Mask and leave in for 5 minutes.
