#1: Healthy Blondes Take Time—And Multiple Appointments

If your blonde clients need  to be blonder for the summer, make sure they understand that it may take multiple appointments to achieve the brightness they are are requesting. Suggest they start booking lightening sessions now, so they can give their hair a break between appointments.

Check out how curl specialist Alyssa Velez (@stylesbyalyssa) adds Olaplex  No. 1 Bond Multiplier to every formula to lift her client out of the brassy zone and keep her curls intact one session at a time!

#2: Make Sure The Hair Is Healthy To Achieve Maximum Lift

Saturation is key to maximum lift, but so is healthy hair. For blonde clients, Sara Pestella (@saramay_level10) says at-home treatments are a MUST for achieving bright blonde results every time.

Send clients home with Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector and No. 0 Intensive Bond Building Treatment to repair, protect and strengthen between appointments. For beach days, instruct them to apply a treatment to wet hair before they leave the house to protect the hair from harsh sun rays.

#3. Prep + Protect With This Lightweight Oil

Beverly Hills-based colorist Bianca Hillier (@biancacolour) preps her balayage clients with Olapex No. 7 Bonding Oil. Why? “The oil moisturizes and nourishes the hair before I apply my lightener without weighing the hair down or making it greasy,” she explains. Prepping with No. 7 will also smooth the hair of any frizz or flyways for easy surface painting and balayage application.

Pro Tip: Send clients home with Olaplex No. 7 to smooth styles and add shine. It will protect their hair from heat damage, strengthen strands for their next lightening session AND boost retail sales!

#4. Give All Clients Protection With This Add-On Service

Even non-blondes need protection during hot, summer months. Salon owner Christin Brown (@curlfactor) adds Olaplex No. 2 Bond Perfector as a “mini-treat” add-on service to her appointments. “Even if clients aren’t getting color, their hair can still benefit from a treatment. It only takes 10 extra minutes and they will feel the difference,” she explains.

If clients are apprehensive, try suggesting the treatment on the house the first time. Once they notice the benefits, they will definitely request standalone treatments.

#5. Protective Styles Need Extra Insurance From Damage

Locs are perfect for clients that are looking to protect their natural texture during humid months. But, if your client is looking to add a little brightness to their protective style, adding Olaplex No. 1 Bond Multiplier to a lightening formula is a MUST. “Protective styles like locs or twists are fragile,” Christin explains. “So adding Olaplex No. 1 when bleaching is super important to protect them.”
