- Formula A (roots): The Demi 6VR + The Demi 3N (2:1) + Processing Liquid
- Apply in a teardrop shape to Zone 1.
- Formula B (mids toner): The Demi 6VR + The Demi 6BV (3:1) + Processing Liquid
- Apply to Zone 2, leaving out the two inches of ends in the back and three inches of ends in the front.
- Formula C (ends): The Demi 6VR + Clear (3:2) + Processing Liquid
- “The clear diluted the formula for less intensity which helps prevent the lightened ends from taking the color too dark,” Robert explains. Process this formula for 10 minutes, rinsing the entire head at the 20-minute mark.
- Formula D (global toner): The Demi Color Gloss Violet
- Rob sends this home with clients as an at-home color refresher, but he also demos it in the salon so clients can know what to expect: “It works in 3 minutes to add vibrancy shine and softness,” he shares.
Pro Tip: Rob loves using The Demi for blonde toning because it’s deposit semi-opaque: “I don’t worry that I’ll erase the highlights or not have enough pigment to get the lived-in look I’m wanting,” he explains. “It’s also ammonia-free, MEA-free and vegan with a gel-like consistency for a no-mess application,” he adds.
6. Platinum Ginger Color Block
By LA-based colorist and Paul Mitchell Artistic Director Paula Peralta (@thepaulaperalta).
Paula shares, “Block color is back and I’m loving finding ways to make it modern and blended. For the ‘chonks’, I combined a slice and then a weave to give me the blended ribbons.”
She adds, “Understanding placement and effect is KEY to know what color goes where—and to be efficient with creating the end result.”
- Formula A (lightener): Paul Mitchell Synchrolift+ Lightener + developer
- Formula B (copper toner): The Demi 7NC + Processing Liquid
- Formula C (platinum toner): The Demi 10NC + Processing Liquid
Did you know? The Demi features a mix of direct & oxidative dyes for longer-lasting color (up to 6 weeks!)
