3,000 Stylists In One Room? Here’s What You Missed!
5 Things We Spotted At Sport Clips National Huddle 2022
It’s been three years but Sport Clips National Huddle is BACK! The Sport Clips team made a huge comeback pulling out all the stops for 2022’s National Huddle in Nashville, Tenn. Keep reading to find out this year’s winners of The Look and Battle of the Hair competition and behind the scenes with your fave barber pros and brands.
1. Industry Pro Live Education
On stage, at the Supplier Fair and even in breakout rooms—Huddle was packed with hands-on education for every skill level. Managers, stylists and students learned industry education to take back home across the country to their teams. We spotted educators from Paul Mitchell Systems, SexyHair, Wahl Professional, BaBylissPRO and more teaching attendees pro tips in person again after three long years away.

2. Shave The Day With St. Baldrick’s Foundation
Eighteen—yes, eighteen attendees participated in Shave The Day on behalf of Sport Clips and St. Baldrick’s partnership. The eighteen participants (including Sport Clips Founder Gordon Logan and CEO Edward Logan!) took center stage to shave their heads for childhood cancer awareness.
The lack of hair was supplemented by huge smiles, a roaring crowd and over $40,000 raised at National Huddle for St. Baldrick’s Foundation!
3. OnStage Technical Education
When new talent comes into the salon, its super important that their techniques and work ethic enhances the current team. We know this isn’t always easy, so Sport Clips educators took the stage to teach 3,000 attendees how to train new stylists that need extra support.
Step-by-step fundamental cutting techniques, day-to-day barbering skills and common cutting mistakes were demoed on stage for attendees to practice and role-play as if they were teaching behind the chair.
4. The Look WINNER 2022
Sport Clips’ The Look competition chooses one stylist from each of their regions to compete on stage at their National Huddle! Melih Salano (@barber.melih) took first place back home to New Mexico in front of the event’s 3,000 attendees.
5. Battle Of The Hair Future Professional Scholarship WINNER
Dedicated to furthering careers and advancing students’ lives, Sport Clips awarded their 2022 Battle of the Hair winner with a $5,000 scholarship! Keenon Pattwell from Paul Mitchell Boise school proudly took home the win alongside his five talented peers who qualified for this year’s young professionals competition.
