2. Fast Foilayage Hack Using Diagonal Sectioning

Ever feel like you should stray away from foilayage because it’s time-consuming? Skip the tedious foil placements and try this time-saving technique from BTC Team Member Taylor Dellatorre (@taylordidmyhair) to create a blended foilayage look without the hours of foiling. 

 

Try this: Alternate each section from horizontal to diagonal partings

• Begin at the nape with a horizontal section, foilayage as you normally would.
• In the next section, angle the parting on a diagonal. Be sure to section from ear to ear for an even result with the most dimension. 
• Taylor recommends painting with Redken Flash Lift Power 9 Bonder Inside on a diagonal within the diagonal section for an ultra-natural look. 

 

WHY this works:
Using diagonal sectioning allows the lightener to cover more surface area in less time. Rather than building upon multiple foils to create a pocket of depth, directing the hair in strategic partings before applying lightener. This will save you time by laying out a large foundation to paint dimension onto.
