BTC spent a recent Friday night with Moroccanoil® at the annual Humane Society of the United States To The Rescue! Gala, a cause near and dear to Moroccanoil® Co-Founder Carmen Tal’s heart. The luxury hair brand has sponsored the gala for the past 8 years, and we were honored to be able to experience such a noteworthy cause. Moroccanoil®’s Company Values

Under Carmen’s leadership, Moroccanoil® has taken a stand against animal testing, fighting for all animal rights. “The commitment and generosity they have shown to animal protection is extraordinary and enduring,” event chair Georgina Bloomberg said at the gala. The Human Society of the United States awarded Moroccanoil® with its Corporate Consciousness Award in 2017 for the brand’s lifesaving work.

The company’s philanthropic effort, the INSPIRED BY WOMEN project, includes lifesaving animal rescue work as part of the Sato Project, dedicated to rescuing abused and abandoned dogs on Puerto Rico’s “Dead Dog Beach.”

Besides the work Moroccanoil® does to support animal relief and rescue efforts globally, the company also has a firm commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainability. This includes goals to reduce the brand’s overall carbon footprint, developing sustainable packaging (read about this project here) and biodegradable ingredients.

Hosted by Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell at Cipriani 42nd Street, singer Gavin DeGraw performed while attendees enjoyed an evening of delicious food by Eddie Garza and honored Patrick McDonnell, the award-winning creator of the comic strip MUTTS©.
