Products Used

1. WATCH: The Rope Braid Quickie

Quick Tip:

  • To add fullness to a braid, apply Biolage R.A.W Texturizing Styling Spray before starting, then pinch and pull (also called “pancaking”), while holding the braid loosely. Too tight a grip will create frizz instead of bulk.

2. WATCH: The Short To Long Quickie

Quick Tip:

  • Upstyles on shorter hair ARE possible with the right products—here are Annette’s three go-tos:
    • Biolage R.A.W. Frizz Control Styling Spray—use on each section before looping and pinning them into place.
    • Clip-in extensions—use randomly to add additional length and volume.
    • The Hot Tools Professional Curl Bar to create the best texture for the finished look.

3. WATCH: French Twist Quickie

Quick Tip:

  • Prep with the Frizz Control Styling Spray to keep the upstyle smooth while locking the look in place.
  • Camouflage bobby pins by sliding them into the updo without opening them up. This allows for less hair to enter, providing a better hold.

4. WATCH: Infinity Braid Quickie

Quick Tip:

  • Infinity braids require clean, tight sections—prep with Biolage R.A.W. Replenish Oil Mist to keep the hair sleek and smooth while working.

5. WATCH: Braided Updo Quickie

Quick Tip:

  • Unsightly part lines in braided styles happen when hair is overdirected forward into the braid. Avoid this by adding hair from underneath the braid.
  • Use the Biolage R.A.W Texturizing Styling Spray to add fullness to the end result.
