This Arizona Stylist Is Going To London To Compete With The Globe’s Top Hairdressers
The results are in and…drumroll, please….the Denman® Stage Star USA winner has been announced! Meet Jalia Pettis (@jaliadp)—Arizona-based educator, hair expert and makeup artist. Jalia was chosen after submitting a two-minute video about why would be the perfect Denman® Stage Star and, thereafter, showcasing her skills in a 15-minute Instagram Live presentation.
So, what’s next for Jalia? On Monday, Oct. 16, Jalia will travel to London, England to compete on stage at Salon International against the regional finalists from France, Japan and the UK. The prize: the Denman® Global Stage Star Competition title. (Along with plenty of prize tools, opportunities and education bucks, of course!)

The winner of the global title at Salon International will receive:
- All an-expenses paid collection photoshoot with award-winning photographer Desmond Murray (@desmondmurray) in the UK
- An all-expenses paid trip to Denman®’s headquarters in Northern Ireland
- An all-expenses paid trip to at least one international event
- Mentoring by Denman ambassadors and leading hairdressers
- A $1,000 scholarship toward education
“I am excited to present on stage at Salon International and will prepare the exact same way I did for my Instagram Live presentation,” Jalia says. “I cannot give away all the details, but I will stay true to myself and keep it engaging!”
