  • Formula A (base):

    Matrix ColorSync 50g 4BC + 15g HD-RC + equal parts 10-volume developer + Olaplex No.1

  • Formula B (midshaft/ends):

    Matrix ColorSync 40g 7CC + 10g HD-RC + equal parts 10-volume developer + Olaplex No.1

  • Formula C (interior/nape):

    Aloxxi BLUE LIGHTENER + Aloxxi 40-volume Blue Crème Developer + Olaplex No.1

When Carlee Jo Caponetto’s (@lushloxbycarleejo) client came into ReHab Hair Salon in Kansas City, Mo. looking for a seasonal color makeover, Carlee drew inspiration from the fall color palette (warm reds, vibrant coppers and soft golds) to create a multidimensional custom color—and she did it all in one process! Since our members couldn’t get enough of Carlee’s autumn blend, we asked her for her formula and how-to. See how she achieved the look below!

COLOR FORMULAS

  • Formula A (base):

    Matrix ColorSync 50g 4BC + 15g HD-RC + equal parts 10-volume developer + Olaplex No.1

  • Formula B (midshaft/ends):

    Matrix ColorSync 40g 7CC + 10g HD-RC + equal parts 10-volume developer + Olaplex No.1

  • Formula C (interior/nape):

    Aloxxi BLUE LIGHTENER + Aloxxi 40-volume Blue Crème Developer + Olaplex No.1

Products Used

HOW-TO STEPS

  • 1

    Apply Formula A to the roots, pulling small balayage sections down through to the ends. 

  • 2

     Apply Formula B to midlengths and ends, pulling thicker balayage pieces through to the ends.

  • 3

    Section horizontally from the temporal bone down to the nape, then balayage in larger sections using Formula C. 

  • 4

    Process for 30 minutes with no heat.

  • 5

    Blow-dry with a round brush, then curl using a 1¼-inch Bio Ionic Curling Iron.

  • 6

    Cocktail Kenra Professional Platinum Texturizing Taffy with L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil and comb through curls with your fingers to help tame flyaways.
