Transformation: Bright Pink to Blended Vanilla Blonde
With celebs like Megan Fox and Shania Twain leading the pink revolution of 2024, requests for shades of pink should not be uncommon among clients. But, when your blondes are ready to return to their natural roots—save this: Alfaparf Milano Professional Brand Ambassador Sean Michael (@seanmichaelhair) took his client from a deep raspberry pink to a blended, creamy blonde and is sharing his secrets below.
You will learn:
- How to properly remove pink hair color (and mistakes to avoid!)
- Sean’s full pricing breakdown and recommendations to charge hourly
- Recommended maintenance schedules and at-home care products
What can clients expect from their appointment?
This color correction took Sean three hours from start-to-finish, without double booking. See the full pricing breakdown below:
- Color removal: $175
- Wet balayage (brightening the previously lightened hair): $200
- Toner: $100
- Haircut and style: $150
- Total: $625
How To Adjust For Different Pricing Models: “I’d book your hourly price times three. If you book per client, I would charge for a full lived-in/balayage service. If you book a la carte, I’d book it as color, wet balayage, toner, haircut and blow-dry,” Sean recommends.
Salon & Home Maintenance: Caring For Blondes At Home
Once your client is ready to ditch their strawberry strands, here’s Sean’s protocol: “If they love the level of brightness and the tone of the blonde, you just need to maintain it with toner for a while until it grows out—then, you’ll want to bring up the blonde.”
Sean’s go-to haircare combo for a fresh blonde is Alfaparf Milano Professional Semi Di Lino Diamond Illuminating Shampoo and Alfaparf Professional Semi Di Lino Reparative Mask. Then, “When they come back to for their maintenance appointment, I’d set them up with a Semi Di Lino line specifically targeted to their hair’s needs and desires.”
