How Long Does This Technique Take?

This service is almost like a major vivid transformation or a color correction. The entire process is a three step technique and can take up to four to five hours, unless the client is already blonde. Make sure the appropriate amount of time is blocked out when clients are scheduled. 

The Prep Is Important

Before color melting, the client’s hair must be lifted so the hues will pop. Melody placed foils along the face frame for extra brightness, back to back teased foils throughout the hair for added depth and went back and lightened the ends. The lightener placement is important, because sloppy application will show through once the client’s hair starts to fade.

Mirror Each Side As You Work

When applying this technique in the salon, make sure to work on both sides of the client’s head at once. It’s easy to lose track of the color placement when working on one side at a time, which will lead to an uneven application.
