  • Formula A (base):

    10 ml Goldwell Topchic 4V + 20 ml Goldwell Topchic 10V + 10 ml Goldwell Topchic blonding Creme ash + 40 ml 20-volume developer

  • Formula B (midlengths and ends):

    5 mls Goldwell Colorance  4V + 15mls Goldwell Colorance 10V+ 40 ml Colorance lotion

  • Formula C (midlengths and ends of headphone section):

    30 ml Goldwell Elumen PK + 10 ml Golwell Elumen RV

Created by Jennifer Torres of Jungle Red Salon in San Francisco, this smoky rose hue is multidimensional and beautiful. Jen wanted to transition her model, Amy, (who is actually the assistant at Jungle Red!) from a platinum blonde and tone to a purple shade without using more bleach. Mission accomplished! Here’s how she did it.

COLOR FORMULAS

  • Formula A (base):

    10 ml Goldwell Topchic 4V + 20 ml Goldwell Topchic 10V + 10 ml Goldwell Topchic blonding Creme ash + 40 ml 20-volume developer

  • Formula B (midlengths and ends):

    5 mls Goldwell Colorance  4V + 15mls Goldwell Colorance 10V+ 40 ml Colorance lotion

  • Formula C (midlengths and ends of headphone section):

    30 ml Goldwell Elumen PK + 10 ml Golwell Elumen RV

FORMULA STEPS

1. Retouch the roots using Formula A and process for 30 minutes, then rinse, shampoo and towel-dry hair thoroughly.

2. Create a “headphone” section three inches wide from ear to ear and clip away. 

3. Apply Formula B to all hair not in the above mentioned section, roots to ends.

4. Apply formula C to the headphone section, being careful to keep the Elumen off of the scalp (it does stain skin!) and process for 30 minutes, then shampoo and condition.

5. Blow-dry hair using a flat wrapping technique and a smoothing iron on the ends to add shine. Because the hair had been previously lightened to a Level 10, the violet and pink tones created a beautiful rose dimension.
