It Might Soon Be Illegal To Post Edited Images Without A Disclaimer On Social Media
Conservative MP politician Dr. Luke Evans introduced the “Digitally Altered Body Image Bill” to the British Parliament this week in response to something he’s noticed as a physician: ”One of the biggest things I’m concerned about is people are trying to respond to an image that they can never actually get to,” he told Sky News. “If you saw that person in real life the next day that body would be very different to the one they’re claiming to have—that’s my big concern.”
Official rules and regulations would have to be established by the Advertising Standards Authority, an independent advertising authority in the U.K.
