SalonCentric Launches SalonCycle Recycling Program

The salon industry creates roughly 421,000 pounds of waste per day, according to Simply Organic Beauty. As the beauty industry works to become more eco-conscious, SalonCentric has partnered with TerraCycle to launch SalonCycle, a new nationwide recycling program that allows salons to easily recycle salon-specific waste.

Here’s how it works: Salons and stylists can sign up and order recycling boxes at saloncycle.com. Boxes are shipped directly to the salon where they can be filled with various salon trash items. Once full, boxes are shipped back to TerraCycle where the waste is recycled and saved from landfills.

With SalonCycle, salons are able to recycle everyday salon items & cut back on waste. Here’s what SalonCycle accepts:

“As part of the L’Oréal family and as a modern distributor, we are deeply committed to sustainability and environmental initiatives,” said Gina Meggo, Chief Customer Officer for SalonCentric. “Our partnership with SalonCycle enables us to grow this commitment in a meaningful way by reducing landfill waste, and recycling where possible. This is only a first step – we will continue to grow our sustainability initiatives to ensure SalonCentric is a steward of the environment, as well as a trusted business partner to salons, stylists and suite owners.”

Salons can sign up today at saloncycle.com.
