How-To: Camila Alves’ Relaxed Wave

close formula

While the jury is still deliberating over who the best dressed celeb was at Sunday night’s SAG Awards, here at BTC, we nominate Camila Alves! Not only was her eggplant-colored Donna Karan gown beautiful, but the loose wave tucked behind her ear gave Camila the relaxed look of someone not standing in front of a thousand cameras.

To ensure she looked calm and collected, Camila enlisted the help of top stylist Kristin Heitkotter, who used Keratherapy and their line of hydrating products to get the look! Moisture was definitely the key when getting Camila ready to hit the red carpet. Having just colored her hair, Camila’s hair was left extra coarse and dry. Kristin used various Keratherapy products to add and lock in moisture and to give Camila fuller tresses that shine. Here’s how she did it.

This hairspray had such a fantastic hold to it! I love it for red carpet events!”

Prior to blow-drying, Kristin thoroughly coated Camila’s locks with Keratherapy Leave-In Conditioner. Perfect for those with naturally curly hair, the conditioner added much needed hydration.

Next, Kristin added Keratherapy Daily Smoothing Cream throughout to eliminate the threat of frizz and protect her hair from heat damage. Using a 3” round brush, Kristin blow-dried Camila’s hair.

Once dry, Kristin sprayed Keratherapy Rapid Rescue to rehydrate Camila’s hair before exposing it to more heat damage. Working with a 1 ½ inch curling iron, she pinned each section and then let cool for 10 minutes.

To finish off her ends with a sleek shine, Kristin used one pump of Keratherapy Argan Oil.

After pushing Camila’s hair behind her ear, Kristin sprayed Keratherapy’s Perfect Hold Hairspray. The spray has a stronghold on the hair, and also protects against humidity and frizz.
