Connie Britton’s Classic Red Carpet Waves

close formula

Loose, lived-in waves are a classic red carpet style for celebs who want to let their dress do the talking. So for Connie Britton, who donned a metallic rose gold gown at the 2018 SAG Awards, celeb stylist Bridget Brager (@bridgetbragerhair) opted for a relaxed wave with a ’40s flair. Find out how to recreate this staple style below!

HOW-TO STEPS

1

Start by raking in volumizing mousse from the roots to the ends.

2

Lift the hair up and away with the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer, aiming the nozzle under your fingertips for smooth volume.

3

Once the hair is 80 percent dry, take 2-inch sections and, using a large round boar bristle brush, complete the blow out to ensure mega body and shine.

4

After the hair is completely blown out, use the cool setting on the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer to set the look, raking your fingers through the hair to lock in shine.

5

Create large waves using a 1½ inch Harry Josh Pro Tools curling iron, pushing the hair in and out horizontally for a wave pattern.

6

Using a wide-tooth comb, brush the waves out once her hair is set. Then, spray some dry shampoo from the midlengths to the ends for texture.

7

Apply a generous amount of medium hold paste to smooth the hair at the part, then tuck one side of her hair back and hold it in place with strong hold hairspray.
