Sometimes it requires a second session to nail the look your client has in mind. So when Julia Salemi’s (@hairbyjulias) client came back for her follow-up appointment, Julia made sure to give her the vibrant purple hue she dreamed of. The result?   • Formula A:

FORMULA STEPS

1. During the first session, remove old color by applying Formula A.

 

2. Then, prelighten with Formula B.

 

3. Freehand-paint Formula C throughout her entire head. Rinse, then style as desired.

4. At the second session, skip prelightening to maintain the integrity of her hair. Alternate applying Formulas D and E on the midlengths. “I used her natural new growth for the root color because she has a beautiful dark brown color,” shares Julia.

 

5. Then, apply Formula F on the ends.
