Wild Style by Sassoon
This look is inspired by the Hip Hop electro sound of the late 70s and early 80s New York City. Think Grand Master Flash and The Furious Fice (White Lines – Don’t Do It…!) meets Kraftwerk (Trans-Europe) and Blondie (Heart of Glass). This rocking era is plundered for its rebel ‘post punk’ style. “‘New Wave’ cuts featuring Vidal Sassoon’s world famous techniques, using combinations of extreme disconnections, grounded with the classics, make these cuts essential,” says Tim Hartley, International Creative Director.

These cuts and colors are inspired by the legendary graffiti artist, ‘Future 2000’ currently featured in Calvin Klein’s CK1 advertising. With Fluorescent colors inspired by ‘Basquait’ who took graffiti art and the downtown crowd – uptown! “Techniques include ‘swoosh’s’ of strong color and defined lines to big up the bold shapes and textures,” says Annie Humphreys, International Director of Color.
