You’ve created fresh color and beachy waves—now what? Teach clients how they can give their fresh-outta-the-salon style longevity with this simple, second-day bun.

Get The Steps

1. Gather the hair into a low, loose ponytail below the right ear. Recommend that clients face a mirror when styling at home for extra control.
2. Stick an index finger through the ponytail and just above the elastic, then push the elastic down a 1/2 inch. Then, pull the ponytail through the gap above the elastic to create a messy bun.
3. Weave a bobby pin at the base to secure the bun in place.
4. Then, pull and pinch the hair for lived-in texture.
