What other appointment types would you incorporate the system into?

I will be using OLAPLEX Bond Shaper™️ as a bridge for clients at any stage of their curl journey to guide them into the next steps to reach their hair goals. I primarily use [it] between color sessions and alongside cut appointments, and also as intensive aftercare for clients coming out of protective styles. A treatment like this is going to be used in my salon as a tool to show guests what their hair can do in the care of professionals. 

How do you incorporate the treatment into existing color services?

So many of my clients are both cut and color guests. Although I would still default to using the original bond builders within all of my color service steps (OLAPLEX No.1 and No.2), I can now offer my guests a follow-up service in between color sessions to fortify their hair.

It’s also an excellent way for us to keep on track with the repair and integrity journey of their hair. The Bond Shaper™️ service is almost like an accountability partner for us; making sure that my client’s hair is cared for in between color sessions. It’s phenomenal.

How does it streamline the process of working with different curl/texture types?

The streamlining is actually quite simple in the fact that once our guests are clarified with the OLAPLEX No.4C at the bowl (Chelating Treatment for those needing a deeper reset), we have the option of either finishing the next three steps at the sink or bringing them back to the styling station to perform the services.

Depending on the length and amount of hair, the timing can range from 45 minutes and upward, which is relatively fast considering the longevity and performance of the treatment. There have been days where we have just booked all Bond Shaper™️ treatments and it’s so fun to watch the stylists get into a rhythm as well as watching the unique results of everyone’s hair.

How do you think this product will influence the way pros communicate and educate their clients about curl care?

To me, the most unique aspect of OLAPLEX Bond Shaper™️ is that it’s meant to repair and enhance naturally curly hair versus trying to manipulate it into something else. This is the first treatment that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with where my client’s hair is noticeably different for the better from an in-salon service. 

What can the client do in between appointments to make the treatment most effective?

Seeing as this treatment can hold its benefits for up to 15 washes, I want to encourage the guests at my salon to know that they’re able to come into the salon and have a treatment that is specified to the needs in the restoration of their hair. I personally feel like this system should be used as an investment into the care of natural textures to support whichever hair journey they’re on. 

Anyone using this treatment and the take-home products will be able to participate in any trend or style that they want. The goal of this treatment and take-home line is to truly provide the tool that people need to become versatile and have the aftercare to fortify their hair afterward.
