4 Things You Missed At SportClips National Huddle 2024

SportClips® Haircuts leaders and managers from all over the United States and Canada flocked to Nashville, Tennessee earlier this month for SportClips National Huddle 2024. The SportClips team alongside your favorite industry educators and brands made it a weekend to remember with endless education, community and celebration. Read on for an exclusive behind the scenes look at everything you missed, including the winners of The Look and the Battle of the Hair competition.

1. Education Lead By Top Industry Brands (And Their Ambassadors!)

On the main stage, at the Supplier Fair and in look and learn breakout classes, Huddle was packed with education for every skill level. We spotted educators from Paul Mitchell Systems, American Crew, SexyHair, STMNT Grooming, Wahl ProfessionalBaBylissPRO and more teaching attendees both business and technical hacks to take home to their salons.

2. How To Excel In Your SportClips Journey, Courtesy Of The National Artistic Team

SportClips’ 2024 10-member National Artistic Team took both the main stage and classroom stages to share how to grow within the company and explore all opportunities. In addition to nailing the technical skills to complete short cuts, the team collectively agreed the most important thing to remember is to be yourself. “Be who you are because you’re going to bring something to this team that’s missing to somebody,” veteran team member Claudia Thomas shared exclusively with BTC.

3. The Look Contest 2024 Winner Revealed

Thousands of SportClips stylists across the U.S. enter The Look contest each year and this year, Valerie Rivera from El Paso, Texas took home first place. BTC talked exclusively with SportClips Artistic Director Stacia Kelley (@scissor_ensemble) who shared how the contest works:

  1. SportClips selects a theme for the competition
  2. Stylists find a model, cut their hair to follow the theme then submit pictures of their look
  3. Experts from SportClips’ partner brands (like American Crew and SexyHair) help choose the finalists
  4. All finalists compete on stage during Huddle for a timed competition
  5. Judges decide choose who created the best look during the alotted stage time
