1. Toner formulation
After the initial transformation appointment, Jack custom formulates a toner for his clients. One of his go-to toners for the perfect silver is the T-Ice tone from Schwarzkopf Professional’s BLONDME Blonde Toning collection. He mixes it with 7-volume developer and lets it process for up to 20 minutes for better deposit and longevity.

2. At-Home Care
Jack makes sure to emphasize to his clients that at-home care is just as important as in-salon maintenance. “She followed carefully all of the maintenance steps I asked her to do including using purple shampoo, shampooing once a week with cold water, eliminating the use of hot tools and using a deep conditioning mask once a week,” explains Jack.
3. Salon Maintenance
When formulated correctly, a silver toner can last up to five months. In the transformation below, Jack’s client didn’t return for a re-tone until five months after her initial transformation service. Her color was fading beautifully and just needed a refresh.
