5 Valentine’s Day-Worthy Updos
Give her a look her Valentine's Day date will love!
Your client is super stoked because her Valentine’s date is going to see her fresh cut and color. Take a couple extra minutes to give her a heart-worthy updo—she’ll be even more impressed!
1. Pinless, Knotted Updo
Jenny Strebe (@theconfessionsofahairstylist) created this modern and soft look, made even more romantic with that gorgeous haircolor!
How-To
1. Section the hair behind the ears, leaving the front section out to work with later.
2. With the back section, create a ponytail right below the occipital bone. When securing with an invisibobble, use the pull and stretch technique, making sure to fit the ponytail securely against the head. Use the last few loops of the invisibobble to loosely encircle the pony—you’ll need that later. Get the rest of the how-to!

2. Intricate Side Braid
BTC’s updo guru Stephanie Brinkerhoff (@hairandmakeupbysteph) created every boho girl’s dream braid.
How-To
1. Begin by curling all of the hair loosely with the ghd Curve Soft Curl Iron. You don’t have to be specific about how big the sections are or which way you curl.
2. Once the hair is loosely curled, run your fingers and some spray wax through the ends to give it a textured feel. Get the rest of the how-to!
3. Knots + Twists
Annette Waligora (@annette_updo_artist) created this perfectly dreamy twist.
How-To
1. Create an exaggerated side part.
2. Mist with Kenra Professional Platinum Matte Finishing HiDef Hairspray, then curl the hair in large sections. Get the rest of the how-to!
4. Architectural, Modern Upstyle
Romantic and still edgy, this look by JoAnn Tupponce (@joanntupponceinc) makes a statement.

1. Apply Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Big Blast Volumizing Gel and blow-dry for lift at the root.

5. Hot Cross Bun
For your model-off-duty client, this on-trend look from Shelby Doehrmann (@shelbydoehrmann) amps up a basic bun with a cuff!
How-To
1. Prep with Davines This is an Invisible No Gas Spray, and wave hair with a 1-inch curling iron.
2. Spray the roots with Davines This is a Dry Texturizer. Tease the roots for volume, and comb the top half of the hair into a half ponytail on the crown. Secure with an elastic. Get the rest of the how-to!
