amika Welcomes Chelsea Riggs As New Chief Executive Officer

amika announces former president Chelsea Riggs as the brand’s new CEO. Chelsea will be leading the business globally, focusing on supporting the hairstylist community and making prestige haircare joyful and accessible to everyone.

In her new role, Chelsea will continue to elevate the brand’s winning vision, which took amika to new heights in 2023. By focusing on a “fewer, bigger and better” strategy, she plans to continue to grow where amika already has a stronghold with professional-grade, yet approachable, products.

“[amika wasn’t] built overnight; we’ve been working on the same strategy for a few years now: our hero product strategy with narrow and deep distribution with our key partner, Sephora; and our professional network, which is extremely important to our current and future business,” Chelsea says. “We’ve been in a position where we’re able to leverage everything that’s working about the brand.”

Chelsea joined amika in 2010 and has built the brand’s distribution from the ground up by focusing on supporting the hairstylist community. The brand is now carried by over 1,800 professional stores and 1,800 sales consultants, gradual expansion with Sephora North America over the past 10 years into all doors, add 850 Kohls Sephora locations and a robust DTC business. Under her leadership, amika has seen 10x revenue growth and refocused its positioning to be a friend to all hair, hairstylists and the planet.
