Aveda “Transparency” Spring/Summer ’08 Collection
The Aveda team decided on the name “Transparency” for their Spring/Summer 2008 collection because the word has many meanings. And, says Antionette Beenders, Aveda Global Creative Director, it is the perfect inspiration for creating original cuts and color that explore one of this season’s hottest trends.
The “transparent” trend was all over this season’s catwalks – Miuccia Prada, Jil Sander, John Galliano – and Aveda’s stylists are always on top of the trends (and usually backstage at the shows).
The word “transparency” brings up ideas like: sheer, layers within layers, movement and things that may appear one way but conceal something else. These ideas build the foundation for “Transparency” – every look you see has more to it than meets the eye. They’re intricate looks, yet versatile and wearable.
It’s easy to lose yourself in these images; once you start noticing the subtle intricacies and hidden surprises you’ll realize that “Transparency” really does have more than one meaning.
