Jessica Biel’s Vintage-Inspired Half-Up Style
This classic ‘do is kept very 2017 by the slightly undone, wispy style, and Jessica Biel definitely rocked it at the 2017 Emmys. We got the scoop from celebrity stylist and Virtue Creative Director Adir Abergel, who also styles the likes of Kristen Stewart and Reese Witherspoon.
“I take something very classic and then I always add an edge by looking at a lot of references,” Adir says. For this look, “I took a lot of references from the ‘40s, I took some from the ‘60s, and I looked at a lot of Elvis inspirations—you know, the big pompadours.”
Prep hair with Virtue Uplifted Volumizing Whip at the roots of damp hair, followed by Virtue Perfect Ending Split End Serum, and blow-dry.

Use a 1.25-inch curling iron to set the hair in barrel curls, then let the hair cool.
3
Remove the pins and let the curls cascade, then brush through for soft, glam waves.
4
Squirt a dab of Virtue Un-Frizz Cream in your hands, and rub it all over your hands like lotion so you don’t distribute too much to the hair. Run your hands through the curls.
5
Take a section about 1 inch wide at the hairline and pull the section towards you as you stand in front of the client. Use a fine-tooth comb to begin backcombing on top of the section, so that when you flip the section back, the backcombed portion is underneath. Work your way toward the back of the head this way.
6
Begin to brush the sides up and the top back. Spray with Virtue Finale Shaping Spray as you work to create the shape. When you’re ready, twist and pin the half-up section, allowing the remaining curls to cascade.
