Gal Gadot traded in her “Wonder Woman” cape and crown for haute couture versions at the 2019 Met Gala, and we have the deets from celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora (@renatocampora) using amika products and Harry Josh Pro Tools. Renato played off of Gal’s Givenchy Haute Couture lace cape dress with a fresh, low pony accented with a crystal-and-pearl headband. Get the steps below!

Show Notes: “Once I saw the dress and headpiece, I knew I wanted to keep the hair really simple, modern, and beautiful to complement the overall look. The fabric of Gal’s dress was very rich and intricate, and her headpiece strong and gorgeous, so we needed a hair look to match,” Renato said.

HOW-TO STEPS

1

On wet hair, apply amika Haute Mess Texture Gloss to create a strong foundation.

2

Blow dry the hair straight with a Harry Josh Pro Tools Pro Dryer 2000, and pull back into a low, sleek pony.

3

Apply Haute Mess Texture Gloss again on a brush and comb through dry hair to add a shiny effect and extra hold.

4

At the base of the pony, wrap the hair around the base to give the pony a polished look and then braid the remaining length—pinning the end to the base of the head.

5

To finish the look, spray amika Headstrong Intense Hold Hairspray to secure the look in place.
