“Sometimes you just need your hair to be as clear as your goals, as white as the clouds and as messy as your weekends,” wrote @thejesjewel (aka Jessica Jewel) when she posted this look on Instagram. We are living for this clearest of clear platinum-white blonde the LA-based colorist dubbed “baby white,” and have all the deets on achieving this shade while maintaining the hair’s health. The secret? Olaplex, the first product with patented chemistry that seeks out broken bonds and repairs them.

“I’ve always been hyper-interested in ingredient decks and the structure of the hair,” Jessica said. “So naturally, I was drawn to Olaplex the moment it launched. Olaplex has not only been a staple in my toolbox to preserve the health of clients’, hair but it has allowed me so, so much more. It has given me the ability to foster relationships with clients based on trust. It has also inevitably connected me with like-minded stylists and individuals that have turned into multiple opportunities that have benefited me immensely. I value this product and the people behind the company very much.” Olaplex can be used in all salon services and in all color lines, which is why many top colorists like Jessica swear by it.

Starting Level

Prelightened to a Level 10

Formula A

1 part Pulp Riot Silver Toner + 6 parts 6-volume developer + 1/16 oz. Olaplex No.1

FORMULA STEPS

1. Jessica started by prelightening her client’s hair to a clean Level 10 using Olaplex No. 1 in the formula to prevent damage and repair the hair.

2. After prelightening, she applied Olaplex No.2. This step continues to rebuild and restore any remaining broken bonds to ensure the strongiest, shiniest and healthiest hair possible.

3. Shampoo the hair, then apply Formula A. Jessica recommends watching this step closely at the bowl as the toner is very pigmented.

4. Rinse, condition and style.
