Mizani® Reveals “A New Day” for Fall Hair
“Defining Lights” 2005 Fall Trend Collection Introduces
A New Dimension in Cut, Color, Shape and Texture
Recently, more than 500 guests attended “A New Day” – a glitzy party held at New York City’s hip night spot BLVD to introduce Mizani’s Defining Lights collection for Fall 2005. Check out the action by clicking on the individual images.
Dedicated specifically to meeting the needs of people with excessively curly textures, MIZANI elevates both artistry and technology to reveal a new collection of modern cuts, bold color statements, innovative styling products and techniques that is certain to inspire both professional stylists and consumers alike.
Created by MIZANI’s team of Master Stylists, “Defining Lights” draws its inspiration directly from the drape and flow of fabrics seen on this fall’s runways, with hair that mimics the movement and sway of fall hemlines, the intricate layering of dresses and tops, and the iridescence of layered fabrics, textures and colors. MIZANI Master Stylist James Harris describes this seasons looks as “a retrospective of hair and fashion with a modern interpretation that will inspire stylists to new heights in cut, color, style and texture.”
The Defining Lights Collection 2005 presents an array of cuts that elegantly create a flurry of eye catching movement through the use of angles and shape. Casual yet intricate styles feature precision cuts that are “shape-within-shape” and “cut into the light.” An outer perimeter offset by inner angles and lines, or cuts with disconnected and bias shapes and skillfully placed “lights and tones” create wonderful, flowing movement. These cuts demonstrate a solid level of stylist craftsmanship and allow the wearer to experience many different styles, from bold and intense, to soft and sexy, all within a single look.
Texture plays a key role for fall hair. By transforming and playing with texture, stylists can create entirely new surfaces on the hair allowing for increased tonality of a single hair color and deep, multifaceted dimensions of the hair cut. Mr. Harris states, “Transforming texture is key to achieving the look. The transformation creates new surfaces, new reflections and new dimensions that give hair a certain “hang” or “sway”.” Texture can also be used to beautifully express and highlight the intricacy of fall’s new hair shapes and angles.
Color, of course, is vital this season. With styles that are cut “into the light”, angular and full of movement, color is a key component to a finished, trend forward look. Much like the cuts for fall, color can transition from bold and intense, to warm and soft all within the context of a single style. MIZANI Master Stylist Rob Willis notes, “You use multi-tiered color to create dynamic depth and dimension. When it’s right, there is a wonderful transition from darkness to light in the hair that illuminates the cut to create a perfect illusion.”
With MIZANI’s Defining Lights Collection for 2005, stylists around the country have access to the most fashion forward, on trend styles to adapt into their own salon chairs this season. MIZANI Master Maurice Lemmons states, “Defining Lights is about intricacy, it’s about craftsmanship, it’s about taking your look and your skill to the next level.” It truly is “A New Day” and a perfect time to revamp styles. Elevate looks for the new season with Mizani and Defining Lights, a new dimension in style and fashion.
