2019 Nail Trends: Chic Pinks & Nudes
2019 Nail Trends: Soft, Chic Nudes and Pinks
Here’s what we learned from the manicures spotted on New York Fashion Week FW19 runways: Simple does NOT equal basic. These manis let the clothes and accessories snag the spotlight while simultaneously shining in their own ways—giving us serious nail envy for these soft nudes and pinks.
Glazed Pink at Veronica Beard
Layering three separately soft pink shades while still slightly wet created the shiny, glazed look spotted at Veronica Beard by @julieknailsny. She started with essie cascade cool, a creamy pink, then topped with barely-there minimalistic and finally layered with mademoiselle, a sheer pink. Click here for the full how-to!
Matte + Shine at TIBI
Dual textures worked in harmony with this look by Jin Soon Choi (@jinsoon). Half the nail is a matte version of JINsoon Dulcet, a delicious toffee beige, and the other half is the super silver JINsoon Glitzy. Top the non-matte areas with JINsoon Top Gloss for extra shine.
Shiny Sparkle at Kate Spade New York
Inspired by droplets of water clinging to nails after a shower, this refreshing “second skin” mani by @julieknailsny is subtly sparkly. Dry-brushing a light layer of essie summit of style over the natural nail base makes this look easy to achieve.
Easy Elegance at Brandon Maxwell
Relaxed glamour is what Brandon Maxwell does best, so it was no wonder @julieknailsny mirrored that feeling in the models’ manis. She selected hi maintenance by essie because the sheer pink works for every skin tone, plus the barely-there shade allowed the fabulous bags and shoes to be the focal point.
Chic Nude at 3.1 Phillip Lim
The designer’s pared-down palette of black, white and gray this season was offset by a neutral, semi-matte nail created by Jin Soon Choi. The shade, JINsoon Nostalgia, evoked an essentially chic feel, and the semi-matte finish with JINsoon Matte Maker added edge.
