Center Part Micro Braid

close formula

Music fest season is officially in full swing and so are the grungy/ hippie-chic looks being sported by celebs and music fans alike—colorful hair, do-rags and plenty of Boho-inspired plaits. One of our favorites fresh off Coachella is Kate Bosworth’s Mohawk braid. Schwarzkopf Professional Brand Ambassador, Amber Dawn was on the ground at Coachella and created this Boho-chic look for Kate, which she describes as a spine braid. “This look has been inspired from fashion and runway, starting from fall 2014 collections,” notes Amber. “Girls also like this look because they can still wear there hair down and around their face—it’s feminine with an edge.” Here’s how she created the look using OSiS+ products.

HOW-TO STEPS

  • 1

To add texture, start by prepping the hair with OSiS+ Refresh Dust and run OSiS+ Thrill  through the hair that will be braided to keep it intact.

  • 2

Take a ½-inch wide section from the center of the head back to the top of the crown, clipping down the sides for control.

  • 3

Create an inside out cornrow braid, securing with a small elastic.

  • 4

Comb OSiS+ Volume Up through the length and ends, softly shaking to loosen up locks and add bounce.

  • 5

Finish and polish the look with OSiS+ Elastic Flexible Hold Hairspray.
