This dimensional look is going to be your copper client’s next request. BTC Team Member Eric Michael (@ericmichaelhair) gave us all the deets to create these dimensional copper ribbons and we are sharing them below!

How do you price this service?

For this look, Eric charges per service versus charging hourly. Here’s why: “This allows me the freedom to not feel like me or my clients are trying to achieve our end goal on a strict budget.” Clients have individual needs and may need prep work before the copper end results such as:

  • Color corrections
  • Custom blonding
  • Gray Coverage
  • Treatments/add-ons or refresh services

For this client, Eric needed to apply a full head of teasylights and all-over toner. Both services totaled $500 and took a total of three and a half hours.

Recommended Maintenance For Copper Tones:

For red and copper tones, Eric recommends clients come in every six to eight weeks for a toner touch-up to keep their color looking salon-fresh.

COLOR FORMULAS

  • Formula A (lightener):

TRUSS Professional Air Libre Bleaching Powder + 20-volume developer

  • Formula B (gloss):

    Redken Shades EQ 08C (0.5 oz) + 7GRo (0.5 oz) + 07G (0.25 oz) + 08N (0.25 oz) + Shades EQ Processing Solution

FORMULA STEPS

Step 1: Using Formula A, apply an aggressive teasylight technique with fine but wide weaves throughout the head to create the ribboned effect. Start at the nape and work upwards using a bricklay pattern to leave veils of natural color near the crown.

Step 2: After processing, shampoo and apply Formula B to towel-dried hair and let process.

Step 3: Cleanse and style as desired.
