Television star Meghann Fahy created buzz on the 2024 Emmys carpet with her stunning strawberry blonde hair color that had everyone questioning—”Is that her natural color?” To no surprise, Moroccanoil® Global Celebrity Hair Colorist Matt Rez (@colorbymattrez) was behind the star’s eye-catching color. 

 

Matt’s Inspiration For The Strawberry Blonde Look:

“Meghann has a really beautiful light brown base color and we love a soft dimensional blonde on her. Leaning on the warmer side of the blonde spectrum complements her skin tone, her eyes truly pop with this color,” says Matt. “I use my signature midlight technique to create a seamless tri-color and tone for the most natural results.”

FORMULA STEPS

1. Using Formula A, highlight the entire head as needed. Allow the face-framing sections and tipped-out ends to lift to a soft Level 9 while the rest of the head lifts to a Level 8.5.

2. In tandem with the highlights processing, apply Formula B to the mid lengths for the “midlight” glow Matt creates. These midlights should be done processing and rinsed at the same time as the highlights. 

3. For a natural low light, Matt used Meghann’s natural color in between his foil pattern. 

4. For the root gloss, apply Formula C everywhere aside from the the face-framing section and let process for ten minutes. Once processed, apply the gloss to the face-frame and hairline section to preserve brightness. 

5. Lastly, apply Formula D all over the head to let process for ten minutes total. At the five minute mark, rinse only the mid lengths and ends and let the rest of the head continue processing for the remaining five minutes.
