No-Heat Styles To Teach Your Clients

Soiree season means your clients are probably going extra-hard on their thermal tools, so when she’s in for her pre-party cut and color, show her two styles that require zero heat but deliver huge impact. Teaching your clients how to do their own hair builds loyalty—plus, it’s an opportunity to retail fun accessories! We picked up these tips from The Salon by InStyle…keep reading for how it’s done!

Embellished Braids

Why She Should Try Them:

This style can be worn all day, and even embellished with cute clips and pins for a major party style…then she can sleep in them, take them out and rock the waves!

How She Should Do It:

  1. Braid the hair with any style of braid. Tell her to get creative—two, three or four braids all look cool!

  1. Start at the bottom and deconstruct the braid to soften the look.

  1. Add embellishments to the hair if desired (bonus points if you retail the embellishments and up your ticket), and voilà!

No-Heat Waves

Why She Should Try Them:

For cool texture, this style is quick to complete and requires less than an hour to set—she can put on her makeup and do her nails while she waits for it to dry.

How She Should Do It:

  1. On damp hair, take a large section and twist all the way to the ends.

  1. Once the section is twisted completely, twist the hair on the base of the scalp and secure with a large bobby pin.

  1. Complete all over the head and release after 45 to 60 minutes.
