2024’s Most Popular Haircuts: A Year in Review

Meet 2024’s most requested, most popular and most sought-after haircuts! Hairstylists, clients and beauty fiends alike dove headfirst into making haircuts the main part of their looks and aesthetics this year. While you spent the year layering every head in your chair, we spent the year compiling the best education and inspo photos to keep you going.

Here is your 2024 best of haircuts roundup, don’t forget to sweep when you’re done.

#1. Bobs, bobs and more bobs

2024 was the YEAR of short hair. Italian bobs, French bobs, ’90s bobs—you name it, clients wanted it. From bouncy bevels to euro-chic, sleek perimeters we truly saw it all. Textures, shapes, densities and hair types were no exception to how far this trend soared this year.

#2. Medium-Length Haircuts

The blueprint? Jennifer Aniston‘s iconic collarbone-sweeping haircut of the ’90s. A lush perimeter, full layers and healthy-looking ends rebranded this “awkward length” that clients avoid to medium-length haircuts that topped the trend charts. Easy to maintain, perfect for the in-between phase and impossible to look grown-out—we foresee this look coming into 2025 with us.

#3. Sabrina Carpenter-Inspired Fringe

There was no haircut conversation without the mention of pop star Sabrina Carpenter this year. Her signature look is never seen without a heavy curtain bang and retro styling. From onstage to in the salon, client requests and inspiration drew from every element of fringe they could get their hands on. ICYMI: This year, Sabrina’s hairstylist Laurie Heaps (@_hairbylaurie) shared exactly how she cuts Sabrina’s hair here!
