Wahl Professional Hosts First Online-Exclusive Barber Battle Competition
Wahl Professional’s first-ever Barber Battle competition is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for to put your barbering skills and creativity to the test! Oh, and did we mention that you don’t have to go ANYWHERE?! That’s right—it’s all online. Get all the deets below and submit your video!
The Battle
Starting June 1, barbers from all over will have the opportunity to compete blade-to-blade in Wahl Professional’s very first online barber competition. The Barber Battle is a friendly contest giving barbers the chance to compete against each other for prizes (and bragging rights!) “We’re excited to be the first professional clipper company to ever host our own online barber battle competition,” shares Lance Wahl, Global Vice President Professional Products.
All You Have To Do
Submit a video of 15 minutes (or less!) competing in three different looks: the pompadour, a bald fade and a creative cut––a freestyle look determined by each individual artist! Each look should be a five-minute segment of the video submission! “We’re leaving the creative cut entirely up to the contestants. That includes the cut, color, design and everything else. It’s all in their hands,” shares Wahl Education and Artistic Team (W.E.A.T.) member Nick Morin. What that means is that it’s time to show off your skills and turn up the creativity!
The Grand Prize
The grand prize includes a Wahl prize package with the complete line of 5-Star Clippers, Trimmers and Shavers, plus an honorary place on the Wahl Education and Artistic Team (W.E.A.T.) for one year—a new opportunity open to hair professionals! The second place winner will receive a Wahl prize package with three clippers, three trimmers and the 5-Star Finale Finishing Tool. “This is an opportunity of a lifetime,” says Nick. “W.E.A.T. members are always asked how others can join the team, and now’s your chance.”
What’s Next?
Be on the lookout for a special announcement after the submission period. The fee to enter the barber battle competition is $75 and is open to all licensed and stylists 18 years old and up, residing in the United States (excluding: New Jersey, Maryland, Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska and North Dakota.) When it comes to the competition, “My best advice is to be yourself,” shares Nick. “If it’s within your budget, hire a videographer to help, so you can focus on your execution. If not, record your submission using a good-quality phone camera.”
