Just Announced: Henkel Announces Two Leadership Appointments
Henkel is excited to announce that Suzanne Dawson will join Henkel Beauty Care Hair Professional North America as Vice President and General Manager of Schwarzkopf Professional US and Global Alterna Haircare. Suzanne will be replacing current General Manager John Fortunato who has just been promoted to Head of Henkel Beauty Care Hair Professional in Canada.
Suzanne will be reporting to Stefan L. Mund, Regional Head of Beauty Care Hair Professional in North America. The Schwarzkopf Professional Executive Team—Linda Gilbride for Education, Kathleen Cannon for Sales, Michael Giombolini for Marketing—will now report directly to Suzanne. In addition, so will the Global Alterna business team who are currently based in Culver City, Calif. “Suzanne is widely recognized as a pioneer and expert in active wellness beauty and is a proven global brand builder,” shares Stefan. “As we welcome Suzanne to the Henkel team, we look forward to her entrepreneurial and passionate leadership.”
Suzanne brings to Henkel more than 30 years of international experience in the professional beauty industry, including Aveda Corporation, Estée Lauder, Murad Inc., LVMH and most recently as President and Co-Founder of YUNI Beauty. Suzanne holds several advanced degrees in marketing and is an Ashtanga Yoga-certified teacher.

John, most recently General Manager for Schwarzkopf and Alterna North America, will also report to Stefan in his new role of Head of Henkel Beauty Care Hair Professional in Canada. “John is a cohesive team leader with strong vision and proven ability to build organizations and take them to the next level to drive ongoing growth,” shares Stefan. “We are pleased to have him serve as our leader for Henkel Beauty Care Hair Professional in Canada.”
Fortunato joined Henkel in 2014 and has served in roles including General Manager of Schwarzkopf Canada and Head of Sales for North America. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the beauty professional industry, previously serving in sales roles at Wella Corporation in Canada and the United States, Kao Professional, and Sexy Hair Concepts. John studied Business Administration at the University of New Brunswick.
