FORMULA STEPS

1. Before:

2. Base break the roots with Formula A to create a soft transition shade from the natural hair to the previous color. “I wanted to shift her base with an alkaline toner before putting in the highlights,” Jeannetta shares. Process for 25 minutes.

3. Section off the hair following Jeannetta’s placement below:

4. In each subsection (starting in the back), weave a medium zig-zag stitch and apply Formula B. This will connect the previously lightened hair to the natural. This look will require about 25 foils (or less) as Jeannetta leaves out about 40 percent of the natural base.

Pro Tip: Jeannetta loves using Joico Blonde Life® SilverLight™ Lightener for a bright, clean lift. See her client’s raw lift below:

5. Apply Formula C as a root tap and leave out the front face frame. Apply Formula D to the mids and ends, processing the entire head for 20 minutes. Pro Tip: Jeannetta loves to add a touch of Clear in her mids-to-ends toner for a bright end result.

6. Wash and style as desired. Finished look:
