This is a color that survives all seasons; but, only when done correctly! It’s essential that you know how to create this look for clients, so keep reading to get Brie’s tips for formulation, application steps and at-home maintenance.

“This process took about six hours,” Brie told us, adding, “The grand total not including the cost of the extensions was $635.”
Who Is The Ideal Client For This Look?
This is not a low-maintenance look, so Brie recommends this color for clients who have the time and money to visit the salon every six weeks (or less) for a highlight, toner and to have their wefts moved up. It’s also important that clients don’t swim in pools or the ocean, don’t shampoo daily and stay on top of at-home care.
What Does Maintenance Look Like?
Beyond visiting the salon every six weeks, Brie provides an extensive routine for clients caring for this look:
- Brush extensions at least three times a day
- Use heat protection and keep hot tools below 375 degrees
- Every third cleanse, use a purple shampoo
- Shampoo a maximum of three times a week, but no less than once a week
- Double cleanse when going longer in between washes

FORMULA STEPS
1. Prep the hair with PRAVANA Purify & Revive PRIME spray to demineralize the hair. Then, create a halo section starting one inch from the hairline. Clip the remaining hair out of the way.
2. Prelighten with Formula A using a full highlight technique: Throughout the halo section, take back-to-back sliced foils and feather the lightener to the scalp.
3. Finish prelightening by taking diagonally sliced foils for all the hair above the halo. Process for up to 55 minutes, checking every 5 to 10 minutes until the hair has lifted to a Level 9.5 to 10.
4. Cleanse with PRAVANA Purify & Revive Cleanse, rinse and towel-dry.
5. Using a wet balayage technique, tip out midlengths and ends with Formula B. Process for 5 to 10 minutes.
6. Cleanse with PRAVANA Color Protect Cleanse, rinse and towel-dry.
7. Apply Formula C starting at the nape, working towards the face. Process for five minutes.
8. Rinse, apply PRAVANA Silk Degrees Prep & Treat and process for seven minutes.
9. Blow-dry with PRAVANA Hydra Pearl Oil.
10. Install the weft extensions. Brie used one pack of 22” Bellami Volume Wefts for this client.
11. Blend the natural hair with the extensions using a slide-cutting motion, adding layers for organic movement.
12. Finish styling by taking one-inch sections and curl away from the face with a 1 1/4″ barrel curling iron. Set with hairspray.
13. Finished look.
