This Simple Two-Towel Foil Hack Makes For More Reliable Highlights
If there’s something we all can agree on, it’s that there is nothing more frustrating than carefully placed foils developing at different speeds. Whenever this happens, it can throw off the entire appointment, whether that be with an unbalanced highlight or a lift that’s a few levels off. We spotted a post on IG that can help!
This ultra-easy foil hack by Alexa Ruby (@alexaloveshair) only requires grabbing two towels from your very own salon—and it can save so much time behind the chair.
Here’s all you have to do for the magic to work:
First, set a rolled up towel directly underneath the bottommost foils in the nape section.
- Doing this will help relieve excessive heat from the neck area—plus ensure that you don’t compromise any hairs in the nape section or lift beyond the level you’re looking for.
- For the client, it can also help alleviate some of the weight from all those foils—something they’ll be sure to rave about when recommending you to others!
Next, drape your second towel over the outermost exterior foils and money piece to help regulate heat. This step is especially helpful in the summer months when the AC is blasting in the salon.
